Description

This is the software for the Speakerbus iCMS system. The iCMS software provides an integrated portal with the ability to configure and program the iSeries. These release notes provide important information about the iCMS software.

System Requirements

iCMS Server

Supported Operating Systems

Microsoft Windows Server 2016.
Microsoft Windows Server 2019.
Microsoft Windows Server 2022.
Microsoft Windows Server 2025.

The latest service pack and windows updates are recommended for all operating systems.

Installation of iCMS software on a domain controller is not supported.

Supported Database Servers

Standard, Enterprise, Workgroup or Express editions of the following database servers are supported:

Microsoft SQL Server 2016.
Microsoft SQL Server 2017.
Microsoft SQL Server 2019.
Microsoft SQL Server 2022.

The latest service pack is always recommended for all database servers.

iCMS Software Requirements

Microsoft .NET Framework 4.8.
Microsoft .NET Runtime 8.0 (for iCMS scheduler service).
Microsoft ASP.NET Core Runtime 8.0 with hosting bundle (for iCMS web API and Seating Assistant).
Installation requires administrative privileges.
Database creation, upgrade, deletion and configuration of security principals requires the correct privileges within SQL Server.
NTFS file system. FAT file systems are NOT supported.
HTML reader, e.g. Internet Explorer (for release documentation).

Web Server Requirements

IIS 10.
Windows Authentication Security component installed - Only required when iManager is configured for Windows Authentication, or the Seating Assistant is installed.
WebSockets Protocol component installed - Highly recommended when the Seating Assistant is installed.
ASP.NET 4.6 (or higher) Application Development component installed.

Hardware Requirements

See requirements for the version of Microsoft Windows the software is being installed on.
See requirements for the version of Microsoft SQL Server the software is being installed on.
See requirements for the version of Microsoft IIS the software is being installed on - iManager, Web API and Seating Assistant components ONLY.

iCMS Web Client (iManager)

Microsoft Edge (version 79 and above).
Google Chrome (version 59 and above).
Mozilla Firefox (version 54 and above).
Microsoft Windows operating systems only.
JavaScript enabled.
Minimum screen resolution of 1366x768 (1920x1080, or above, highly recommended).

When installed onto the target machine, the following directory structure and files will have been created:

IP Port Numbers

The IP ports used by the iCMS:

80 (443 for secure)	HTTP(S) (TCP/IP)	Configurable in the Microsoft Windows IIS Management Console	Blocking on the iCMS Web Server machine will block access to iManager, the iCMS web API and/or the Seating Assistant. Blocking on the iCMS web API machine will prevent ARIA and AYRE deskstations from connecting to the iCMS.
9190	Configuration management protocol (TCP/IP)	Not currently configurable. Please contact Speakerbus Support if this needs to be changed.	Blocking on the iCMS Communications Server machine prevents communications between the iCMS Communications Server and iSeries devices/servers.
8080 and 8081	HTTP/HTTPS (TCP/IP)	Configured in the iCMS Integration Server's configuration file during installation.	Blocking on the iCMS Integration Server machine will block access to the iCMS web service (running within the integration server). Blocking on the iCMS Integration Server machine will prevent older versions of ARIA and AYRE deskstations from connecting to the iCMS. Blocking on the iCMS Integration Server machine will prevent CTI service on iGS server from connecting to the iCMS.
